An overarching barrier in the climate and energy domains appeared to be that there’s no level playing field between green and renewable tech and fuels on the one hand and old or existing industries and fuels on the other.
Partly this is a policy issue. There are subsidies for solar and wind, but fossil fuels still enjoy generous tax breaks in Western countries and huge government support in oil- and gas-producing countries.
It’s an infrastructure issue. Pipelines for oil and gas. Roads and petrol stations for non-electric cars.
I’d love to dive a little deeper into this and understand the barriers innovators face before we can start to ideate breakthroughs in the next phase of the Global Visioneering program.
